Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Crown Crawley Roofing collects through this website, what we do with it, and the choices and rights you have.

Crown Crawley Roofing ("we", "us" or "our") runs the crowncrawleyroofing.co.uk website. This page covers the personal data we collect when you use the site, ask for a quote, or contact us, and how we look after it. By using the site you accept the practices described here.

What information we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Details you give us

When you use the enquiry form, call us, or message us on WhatsApp, we may ask for personal data that can identify or contact you. That usually means your name, email address, phone number and the address of the property. We also keep anything you choose to tell us about the roof, such as photos you send.

Usage data

When you browse the site, your browser sends information to our hosting systems. This can include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of each visit, the time spent on a page, device identifiers and other diagnostic data. We use it to keep the site running and to see which pages are useful.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website. This site uses only the small number it needs to work, such as remembering a setting while you browse, and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.

Two embedded features, the Google map on the contact page and any video, load only when you click on them, and the company that provides them may then set its own cookies. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to warn you when one is sent, though some parts of the site may then work less well. Our cookie policy explains each one in more detail.

How we use your information

We use the data we collect to:

  • provide and maintain the website;
  • answer your enquiry, arrange a survey and send you a written quote;
  • contact you about the job you asked us about;
  • tell you about changes to the site or to this policy;
  • let you take part in interactive features when you choose to;
  • understand how the site is used, so we can improve it;
  • detect, prevent and fix technical problems.

Your personal data stays with us and the service providers described below.

Service providers and Google Search Console

We may use outside companies to run parts of the site, such as hosting and the enquiry form. They can reach your personal data only to do those tasks for us and must not use it for anything else.

We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, and we do not track your visits. We use Google Search Console to see how the website appears in Google search results; it works from Google's own search data, sets no cookies on your device and adds no tracking code to our pages. Google explains how it handles search data at policies.google.com/privacy. If we ever add an analytics service, we will name it here and in our cookie policy, and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Where your data is held and who may see it

We process your data in the United Kingdom. If you contact us from elsewhere, you accept that your information will be transferred to and handled in the UK. We take reasonable steps to treat your data securely, and we do not transfer it to another organisation or country unless there are adequate controls in place.

We may disclose personal data where we believe in good faith that we need to, for example to comply with a legal obligation, to protect our rights or property, to prevent or investigate wrongdoing connected to the site, or to protect the personal safety of users or the public.

No method of sending data over the internet, or storing it electronically, is completely secure. We use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links, children and changes to this policy

The site may link to pages run by other people. If you follow one, you leave our site, and we have no control over that site's content or privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of every site you visit.

The site is meant for adults, aged 18 and over. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, and we will update the effective date to match.

Contacting us and making a complaint

If you have a question about this policy, or want to ask what data we hold about you, email info@crowncrawleyroofing.co.uk, call 01293 974253, or use the contact page.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first. Under section 164A of the Data Protection Act 2018, which came into force on 19 June 2026, an organisation that receives a data protection complaint must acknowledge it within 30 days of receiving it. You can also take your concern to the Information Commissioner's Office.
